New sketchbook, new stuff.

Recently got a new sketchbook, so here's a few pages out of it.

Finished. Learned a lot, and I'm pleased with how it turned out.

More progress

Still nothing concrete. I probably could have finished this ages ago but I keep changing things and experimenting and otherwise procrastinating on finishing it up sooo...


Full image is where I'm currently at. Thinking about changing some colors/shadows/texture but it's coming along.

The other is just a close up in the girls face since you can't really see it in the full image. I need to throw some dirt at her but, seeing as I haven't really done any portraits from imagination in..months? I'm pretty pleased with it.

Amaranthine

Amaranthine, definitation: Endless, Unfading, Immortal.

Wanted to try my hand a big piece, something to play with everything I've been working on in my studies and sketches as of late.

There are some minor tweaks I want to make but for now I'm calling it finished.

Also, question; I have huge stories for about every piece/character/world/creature that I do, but I never post them because I don't know if anyone would find them interesting? So if any of you want me to I can go back and edit those in, or just start adding them.

Stuff and more stuff.

First is a set of sketchy studies, I realized I hadn't drawn full figures in a while so I decided to remedy that.

What I've been up to lately...

...isn't much. I got dragged to Iowa for a week and had to help my Uncle and his family move to Arizona, and my roommates got a new cat, plus, to top it off, I'm trying this whole "Get in Shape" thing which is going..oaky. I'm really not all that fond of sweat to be honest but it's summer and it'd be nice to wear shorts at some point....

ANYWAY, here's the little bits of art I've managed to squeeze out in between Zumba and kitty cuddles.

The first is a quick speed painting to try out some new brushes

The second started as a study and then I'm not sure what happened but here it is.

Hawkeye

So after I posted that Loki piece a friend requested Hawkeye, and well, painting practice is always a good thing, right?

Either way, at least I'm producing art, and sites like Tumblr react well to fan art so hopefully it'l lgain me some commissions until I can get some real work.


Also should say I was working with a more limited palette then I normally do. It worked out alright, but I miss not using as much color as I normally do.

I need to find some shows/competitions to enter.

If anyone can point me in a direction that'd be great.

Google is helpful...but only to a point.

Space Crew

Sci-fi space crew I'm working on.

Space Collaboration

Collaboration piece I did with a group of other concept artists.

The idea revolved around a multicultural space station that serves as a marketplace/trading post through the galaxies. This guy would be the main character, hes a bit of a dirt bag, he’s a miner and junker and basically scrounges for things to sell and trade for some quick money.

The suit is a cobbled together thing that he uses when hes out scrapping scouring planets/asteroids/wrecked ships for things to sell.

There’s also a little piece in the back where his little sidekick’s suit would screw in (he’s not pictured because he was created by a different artist.)
